Microsuction is a gentle, professional, water-free procedure to remove ear wax, dry skin , foreign bodies and infective debris from your ears.

Microsuction ear wax removal has a significantly lower risk of causing damage or infection than traditional ear cleaning methods like ear irrigation or syringing. This is because the procedure is performed under direct vision and avoids the use of any water at high pressure. It is now a gold-standard procedure for ear wax removal as it has been proven to be safer, cleaner, and better tolerated by patients.

Microsuction  is the safest method to remove wax and is why it is the preferred option used by ENT specialists.

No, it is a ticklish sensation, and the suction makes a slurpy noise in your ear. Ear suction can be noisy and you may feel some mild discomfort. Occasionally mild dizziness may be experienced for a few seconds. If this occurs, the nurse practitioner will stop the suction to allow the dizziness to settle.

No referral is required

Booking your appointment online is the preferred method. Simply choose your appointment time and fill in your details. Alternatively you could give us a call and leave a message. We will contact you.

We advise not to use any over-the-counter eardrops e.g. Waxol, Cerumol, Audiclean Ear Wax Remover etc.Usually microsuction does not need pre-treatment, if you feel your ears are severely blocked you may use some olive oil for up to 7 days before the appointment to soften any wax build-up this can make the procedure faster and more comfortable.

We currently offer microsuction to remove wax or foreign bodies for children aged 12 or above.
